Chivalry is not dead
Klang is not exactly very safe. In fact it's got a reputation for being pretty dangerous nowadays. If some people think that my Puchong area is not that safe, wait till they see Klang. My Klang house was even robbed once.
So the nearest station to my house in Klang is the Teluk Gadong one. In daylight it looks pretty dodgy already, so you can imagine what it looks like at night.
I was coming back from PC Fair at KLCC. When I arrived at the station, it was so dark and dodgy. The ticketing counter was closed as usual (they only seem to open during peak hours when people are going to or returning from work...). So I was waiting at the stairs for SissyDear to pick me up. It was really quiet. Not many cars were passing by as well...
Then this guy came on his bicycle with a torchlight in his hands. He got off, came towards me and started asking me something loudly. I was kinda freaked out naturally, I could hardly understand what he was saying. It sounded like Bahasa Malaysia but spoken by a Chinese person who couldn't speak it well. I just sorta like went "Huh?". He repeated himself loudly a few times and started gesturing wildly. He also started talking into his walkie-talkie and waving his torchlight around wildly.
Ok, now I'm starting to panic a little...What if this psycho guy starts getting weird ideas? I was thinking of what could I defend myself with should he try something stupid...Hit him over the head with my PC Fair flyers...? I had quite a thick stack, but I don't think it would make much of a dent... :s
Then suddenly, I heard a voice from behind me, "Apa you mau?". I turned and saw this young Chinese guy standing protectively behind me. He must have gotten off the train at the same time I did and was waiting further away. He must have just only walked over to where I was standing because he wasn't there a moment ago.
PsychoGuy turns to ChineseGuy and starts talking loudly to him. By now I could sorta understand what he was trying to say. He was asking where is the station security guard. ChineseGuy answered "Tak ada, tak ada" and some more words were exchanged between them, and PsychoGuy talking into his walkie-talkie every few seconds. Then PsychoGuy said something like he was gonna find the security guard and scold him for leaving his post or something, then got on his bike and pedaled away.
I was kinda standing there blur blur, thinking to myself "What the hell just happened here". Then I noticed ChineseGuy moving away. So I turned and gave him a small smile of thanks. He smiled back and walked away.
A few minutes later, his friend came and picked him up. SissyDear came not long after that.
So this night will always be remembered as the night a total stranger had the chivalry and decency to come to my aid. *hearts*
P.S. I later found out that PsychoGuy was indeed psycho. Apparently, he likes to go around wearing a RELA vest, carrying a torchlight and walkie-talkie pretending he was a RELA member. But he's not. He's talking to no one when he's using his walkie-talkie. Poor fella....
Petrol Hike = Tempers Hike
Took a bus home last night. First time since the petrol price increase coz SorryWrongNumber has been sending me home all this while. Couldn't send me back this time coz his brother was following him home. And can I say, OMFG!!! I am never ever ever ever ever gonna take a bus home after 5pm anymore (unless I asolutely have to...)!!! The bus back to Puchong was so freakishly packed! Luckily me have veli good system...take the bus to KL Sentral, then wait for the bus that goes back to Puchong. It takes longer because the bus actually goes to Pasar Seni first before turning back towards Puchong, but at least I get to sit down for the whole journey, and don't have to push and shove with all those other people.
Nowadays, there are these people from the RapidKL who are stationed at Brickfields, presumably for crowd control. Last night, they kept on trying to literally push people onto the bus, even though it was packed until there was no place to move already. People standing beside me were practically landing on my lap. Ish...
Tempers were also running high that day. At Pasar Seni the bus driver was yelling at these 2 Indian girls for lying to him and saying that they wanted to go to Pasar Seni when they actually wanted to go back to Puchong. I guess the girls told him that so that they could get on the bus. Ok, so maybe the girls shouldn't have lied. But then again they knew if they didn't, they wouldn't have been able to get on the bus....What's so wrong in getting on the bus whenever and whereever you want? As long as the person has a ticket there shouldn't be any problem right? Why must make the person wait for the return bus??? Especially when there are no proper places to sit and wait also...
Then at Pasar Seni, people were pushing and shoving just to get onto the bus. Total and utter chaos until one Indian uncle was so pissed off and started cursing and swearing at whoever had pushed him. They were sitting somewhere behind me some more, so freaked out that the verbal fighting will escalate to physical fighting, and I will kena as well :s (Luckily it didn't get to that)
And there was this lady who went up to this man and his kid who were sitting down. She asked the father "Dia ada bayar tak?", pointing to the kid. The kid looked to be around 7 or 8 years old. I think she wanted to tell the kid to give her his seat coz he didn't pay. The poor father also like stoned there, don't know what is happening. MeanLady repeated the question a few times, each time getting more and more menacing, until another lady told MeanLady that kids under a certain age don't have to pay to ride. MeanLady looked so offended and disgruntledly walk to another part of the bus. What is it with these kind of people? So what if the kid didn't pay to ride the bus??? He didn't have to! He had as much right to sit there as MeanLady. I mean, if it was some bags or stuff on the seat then I would be pissed also la...but come on! It's another human being sitting there la! Just because you are older than the boy and paid for your ticket you tai sai ar??!! Babi betul...!
Haih....I seem to have a rant everytime I take public transportation. This cannot be good for my blood pressure man....Can probably get so worked up and suffer from a heart attack one day...... -_-''
Pick me up...
Persistent fellow though. Kept asking for my number even though I politely refused him a few times. Even said that he admired me for not lying and giving him my number but not picking up when he called. Then a few tries later he wanted to give me his number pulak. Like WTF....So I said no thank you la...Then he started saying like how much he admires me for not giving him false hope by taking his number pretending I'd call. Then I just continued looking out the window. Mana tau, that fella then asked me for my email address. OMG, if I give it to you will you just leave me alone??!!! So I just gave him my address, the one where all my spam goes...wakakaka!!! Me so evil!
Finally, my stop arrived. I practically cabuted from the bus! ARGH!!! Freedom!!!
Young Love
Oh, the other day I was on the bus and there were this group of girls on the same bus. They looked to be like, secondary school kids. At one of the stops, this group of guys boarded the bus and suddenly the girls were all gelabah. It looked like the two groups knew each other....the guys were like, teasing the girls and the girls were pretending to ignore them...Awww....Reminded me of when I was younger and behaved like them also....Gosh, I'm making myself sound so old.....
Got to KL Sentral at 6.30am, and guess what? I was the 1st one there. Typical....the company bus was supposed to leave at 7am, but we only left at 7.25am because of the latecomers...4th day already man, and this same couple is late again....the agent's workers kena diu by the agent for being late...not my group la of course, coz we are always punctual. *kembang*
2008: 1st post
Kieran!!!
And last but not least, Lilian (don't have a picture of her though...)!!! She married my cousin, Hong.
Welcome to the family y'all!
Then there were the not so happy stuff. 2nd Kau Fu was admitted to the ICU in March. Apparently something went wrong with his biopsy earlier that week and there was sepsis in his blood. So I was spending practically everyday at the hospital, eating dinner at 10pm only... -_-'' There was a time when 2KF's condition took a turn for the worse and 4th Yee started crying. It was so scary and I felt so helpless. I couldn't imagine losing a loved one just like that. This was also probably not the best time to tell Mumi that I had been to the hospital and the doc said that my lupus was relapsing. It just made her go into overprotective-mum mode. *Sigh* Luckily, 2KF finally pulled through, so after the 5th day in ICU, he was transfered to a normal room. I am happy to report that he is up and about now!
This year is also the year I started taking public transportation to college. Actually, I'm practically taking public transportation everywhere I go....Quite a big improvement from the last time I took one (which was like ages ago) but still leaving a lot to be desired. I have to take like 2 different buses just to get to the LRT station where I take the college shuttle bus to college. Average travel time = 2 hours. And I'm at the mercy of the bus drivers who seem to only start moving the bus when they feel like it. Also, if you wait for a bus at Kl Sentral, you'll come across a few bas hantu. These buses drive by without turning on their signs so you don't even know what bus number it is. So tu lan! It's like they don't wanna pick anyone up from that stop. And I don't get why some bus drivers refuse to let you on the bus at KL Sentral. They will insist that you walk all the way to the monorail station there to wait for a bus. In the rain summore. Like, WTF! Why can't I just get on the bus at KL Sentral?! So pissed off...
Next on the list, I finally got my lappie!!! After nearly 2 years of talking bout getting one, I finally went and actually got one!!! And it's pink!!! Oooooo.....so purdy...! And now I'm officially in debt. o.O
I'm in my final year now and am getting bombarded with assignments, not to mention my final year project. So I definitely have to get a laptop if I'm to finish my work. At least I'll be able to get some work done during classes where the lecturer doesn't even know what she's teaching about and only knows how to read from slides. Seriously, she'll read the slides once, turn back to the students, repeat whatever the slides said again, then she'll try to explain what the slides said (which she basically repeats what the slides says, substituting a few words with her own...) ARGH!!! There's so much bout her that annoys me! I guess I'll just have to dedicate a post solely to her....
And talking bout assignments, I've been dating these 3 guys like, practically every night. Coffee, SorryWrongNumber and SingingMan. Mind you, we were rushing to complete our assignments. You should see us once the sun goes down. We're like crazy people with laptops in front of them in the Syndicate Room. De-stressing you know....
Oh, and it was during one of these groupie sessions that my bag got stolen. My Guess bag. From the library shelf. And the stupid CCTV is totally and utterly useless. Luckily, I took my phone and wallet out of the bag. But my house keys, thumb drive and Morgan sunglasses were gone with the bag. My new Morgan sunglasses, the ones that I've had for less than 6 months. The only time when I left it in my bag instead of taking it with me. *bash head against wall* And the stupid thing bout it is the response of the person in charge of the library when I told her of the theft. The first thing she said was "The library is not responsible for anything left on the shelves." Babi you...First of all, you don't allow us students to bring bags into the library and you don't provide lockers for us to keep our bags safe. Then you have the gall to try and shift the blame of yourself. And the shitty thing about it is she didn't even immediately call the security guards or even call the big guy in charge downstairs to inform them bout the theft. She had the audacity to tell me to tell them myself. Like, hello?! Aren't you in charge of the freaking library?! Isn't it your responsibility to report when something happens in your domain?! And that stupid CCTV is only for show. The tapes can only show you all of the cameras' feed on one screen. You can't even zoom in to view a particular camera's feed. And the picture is so blur and shaky that you can't even see anything properly! So all I saw from the tapes was some fella (looks like a Chinese) taking his sling bag from a shelf, take my bag from my shelf and stuff it into his bag. Then he put his bag back onto the shelf, went into the library to a table to get some papers or something, walk to the other end of the library to a bookshelf, then went to the bag shelves, took his bag and left the library. All this under 1 minute! So people, Don't Ever Leave Your Bags On APIIT Library's Shelf!!! Leave it with the librarians to jaga. I just found out you could do this after my bag was stolen. #@\%^^&&* They don't even tell you that you could do that. Who cares if their counter will be filled with bags, just make sure that your bags will be safe. If your bags still go missing after that, you can probably even sue them coz they were supposed to take care of your stuff. If I ever catch that asshole mofo bastard who stole my bag, I'm gonna chop off his hands and make him eat them!!! *insert evil laugh here*
So, I guess that's about it as far as updates go....Back to work now!
